I came into work today and my co-worker (jewish) said it's sad to see someone die and I said he was a vile person and got exactly what he deserved and I'm happy he's dead. She then proceeded to tell me after I told her some of the things he believed, O, I didn't know anything about him. So if you don't know anything about him how are you sad he'd dead??? White people are too exhausting.

I had to take a course today at my job and the instructor(white woman) said "Such a shame. I think they should immortalize him(Kirk) like Martin Luther King."

I could not hold my mouth shut and loudly(but respectfully-ish) disagreed. Ended up leaving the class altogether because I could not concentrate after that. Once I voiced my opposing opinion the instructor shrugged and said "well I was just trying to start a conversation..." as if my response was not conversing. I clocked three other white women nodding along with her the entire time. My mind is blown but also I'm not surprised. Whew.

Worth noting: I also brought up how Kirk supported gun violence and a woman(whiiiiite) in front of me vigorously shook her head and loudly said "I followed him on facebook and NEVER saw him say such a thing." To which I replied, "I'm happy to show you interviews where he says as much," and she said "I don't want to see any of that."

OF COURSE YOU DON'T. Why, then you might have to see you are incorrect. God forbid.

Fuck all of this.
